What we actually offer
Hard problems
Ledgers, metasearch engines, insurance platforms: systems where a slow batch or a wrong balance is a business problem, not a bug ticket.
Depth, not breadth
We are deliberately a Java shop. You will get deeper rather than thinner, on Java 21 and 25, Spring, Kafka and in-memory data grids.
Direct client contact
Engineers talk to clients. Requirements do not arrive pre-chewed through three layers, and your English gets used.
Judged by working software
Clients judge the work by the software you demo every week, not by a status report. Nobody micromanages how you get there.
AI tooling with boundaries
One sanctioned toolchain with client-approved data boundaries.

What candidates ask us
Is the recruitment process remote?
Yes, all of it, including the technical task.
Who will I talk to?
Engineers you would actually work with, and one of the founders. We are small enough that this is practical.
How long does it take, and how quickly do I hear back?
The first conversation is normally within one or two days of your application. We give feedback at every stage rather than leaving you guessing, including when the answer is no.
I have little experience. Should I apply?
Most of our team is senior and most openings suit experienced engineers, so be aware of that. If you are early in your career and the work genuinely interests you, apply anyway and we will be straight with you about fit.
How good does my English need to be?
Good enough to work directly with clients in the UK and the US, because engineers here do talk to clients. It does not need to be perfect.
Employee or B2B?
Either. Most engineers are employees; senior specialists sometimes prefer B2B. We do not subcontract to other companies, so either way you work for Stratoflow and with our clients.
